The Grounds ministry team continues to be healthy and safe! We hope that you to are well and looking forward to warmer weather, camping, going to the beach, an ice cream cone or two, and a great time of worship and praise! We are now on week number 9 of our stay at home order and it looks like it will be another two weeks with the latest executive order from the Governor. We continue to have many walkers and visitors who come to get a little exercise, check on the size of our beach (Yes, it’s bigger than last year), and ask when are you going to be open. Yes – we are anxious to open up and we will be ready!
As mentioned last week we cancelled our first senior serve week, May 5-8. We have had some volunteers coming in for a day to help with clean-up and preparations for the summer. With the latest executive order we most likely will be closed for Memorial Day weekend. the Conference Grounds Board of Directors will be meeting on the 14th and will be making decisions regarding when the Grounds will re-open. We will post those decisions on our web-site and be contacting everyone who has made reservations for MDW. The Voices of Victory concert on Memorial Day evening has been cancelled as well as the Lore Family concert on Saturday, June 6. We will be making announcements on the June 20 and June 26 concerts in the coming weeks. We still hope to have our senior serve week #2, May 26 to 29, and will make that announcement next week. We continue to take reservations for the summer season and hopefully lots of fall camping! Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm and closed on Saturday and Sunday.
We continue to appreciate your prayers and support as we continue to navigate the challenges and impacts of COVID-19. Let’s all be reminded of Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer!
