Mike was pleasantly surprised when he heard about a hostel in the wilderness!  It’s call White House Landing. He was picked up at a boat landing and taken across the lake to the hostel where he was able to enjoy a shower, supper, and shelter for the night!  Saturday was a great day of hiking for Mike. He hiked 14 miles, the terrain was pretty level but still had it’s share of rocks and tree stumps. Mike made it to the top of Mt Katahdin, signed in , enjoyed the view and made his hike back down the mountain! In order to raise funds to reduce/eliminate the debt at the Grounds, our director Mike Perton is planning on hiking the entire Appalachian Trail!  He began his hike at Katahdin, Maine on July 2,2018 and is making his way south to Springer Mt., Georgia.
